Freshwater Fish Marketing Corporation to be removed from Schedule III of the Payments in Lieu of Taxes Act

An amendment that has been passed but is not yet in force will remove the Freshwater Fish Marketing Corporation (Office de commercialisation du poisson d'eau douce) from Schedule III of this Act. Schedule III lists the Crown corporations and federal bodies whose properties are subject to payments in lieu of taxes to municipalities. Once this change takes effect, that corporation's properties will no longer be covered under that schedule. Organizations that currently receive payments in lieu of taxes in respect of Freshwater Fish Marketing Corporation properties should be aware this coverage is set to end. No action is required until the amendment comes into force.
